DIRECTIONS TO THE RACES

Lake Lenape, Mayslanding

Lake Lenape, Mays Landing

No bus is provided for rowers to Lake Lenape! Rowers are dropped off at the Atlantic County Park at Lake Lenape (GPS - 6155 Old Harding Hwy, Mays Landing, NJ 08330). Take NJ-50 North to Mays Landing. At the US-40 Traffic Signal, continue straight on Mill Street (CR-616) for 0.4 miles. At the Flashing light, turn left onto Old Harding Hwy (CR-559). Take Old Harding Hwy for 0.2 miles and turn right into the Atlantic County Park.

Spectators and the Food Tent are located at Lenape Park (GPS - 723 Park Rd, Mays Landing, NJ 08330). After dropping off rowers, leave the County Park and turn left onto Old Harding Hwy. Take Old Harding Hwy for 0.2 miles to the flashing light and turn left onto Mill Street (CR-559). Take Mill Street 0.3 miles and turn left onto Hudson Street. Take Hudson Street to the ‘Stop’ sign and take a right and a quick left onto Park Road. Take Park Road 0.5 miles and turn left into Lenape Park.

A $5 donation is collected per vehicle. This pays for the Jitneys that shuttle the rowers between the boathouse and the food tents.

Take US-40 to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Cross the bridge to I-95 South and drive 3 miles to exit 4A (DE-1/DE-7, Dover/Beaches). Take DE-1 South (Toll road) for 17 miles to Exit 136 (DE-299, Odessa/Middletown). Turn right off the ramp onto DE-299 West towards Middletown. Take DE-299 for 1 mile and turn left onto Silver Lake Road. Take Silver Lake Road for 1 mile to the end and turn left onto Noxontown Road.  Take Noxontown Road for 1 mile and turn right into the Rodney Point Picnic Grounds. Travel time from the O.C. Boathouse is about 2 hours.

Parking is located at the intersection of Reservoir Drive and West Diamond Street in Fairmount Park (GPS Coordinates Lat. N39.98925 Lon. W75.19119 – No street address is available). Take the Walt Whitman Bridge into Philadelphia and continue on I-76 West for 12 miles to Exit 340A (Lincoln Dr, Kelly Dr). Take the ramp and turn right at the ‘Stop’ sign. As quickly as possible, get into the extreme left lane and follow signs to Kelly Drive. Take Kelly Drive for 1.5 miles where the police will have barricades set up. Bear left and drive 0.6 miles up the hill to the parking area at West Diamond Street. Parking is $10+. To walk to the crew tent and race area, take the trail from the intersection of Reservoir Drive and West Diamond Street along the stream to the race area. The crew tent is usually at the end of the trail (a 5 to 10 minute walk) but in 2015 we were moved down a bit closer to the Grandstand.

Take the Atlantic City Expressway or NJ-55 NJ-42 (North-South Expressway). Take Exit 1B to I-295 North. HEADS UP: As part of the I-295 Direct Connect project, the ramp for Exit 1B has been relocated. It is now ½ mile sooner than it used to be (immediately after the Creek Road exit).

Take I-295 North for 38 miles to Exit 65A (Sloane Avenue East). Go 1.3 miles to the end and turn left onto Edinburg Road. Go 4.3 miles and turn left into Mercer County Park. Take the Park Drive for approximately 1 mile to the parking area on the right. Travel time from the O.C. Boathouse is about 1¾ hours.

(GPS – 173 Park Blvd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002) Take the Atlantic City Expressway West, which becomes NJ-42 North. At the I-295 split, keep right onto I-76 toward I-295/US-130 then keep left on I-76 toward I-676/US-130. drive 1 mile to Exit 1D (US-130 North, Collingswood). Take US-130 North for 3 miles, cross the Cooper River and turn right onto Park Blvd. Take Park Blvd. for 1.2 miles and park along the road.
